Harvesting
Within the investment for each developed and managed plantation, Prima Plants Research and Development would manage the felling of the trees and then couple with this a local processing facility.
PPRD will match the processing capacity to the plantation output volume required utilizing our innovative perpetual harvest methodology.

Overview of production processes;

-
Inspection to identify and ‘sort higher value’ natural occurring Agarwood.
-
Pre-sizing of logs for processing
-
Removal and extraction of Agarwood via coring.
-
Creation of Agarwood Chips
-
Sorting / Grading Chips
-
Drying of chips of oil extraction
-
Grinding of wood chips for oil extraction
-
Pre-soaking with additive to breakdown cellulose wall for increased oil extraction.
-
Removal and extraction of oil via a gas fired distillation process.
-
Oil refinement to improve quality.
Where possible we use sustainable processes and techniques to minimise the impact on the environment in both our harvesting and processing facilities;

-
If the species to be harvested is Kynam, we can use cuttings from the harvested tree for our seedlings grafting process.
-
Leaves can be used for the manufacture of secondary and tertiary downstream products.
-
Remaining crown of the tree is chipped and remains on the plantation for mulch to add nutrients back into the soil.
-
Waste wood pump from the oil extraction process is 'dried' and returned to the plantation to be used as mulch.
