Downstream Product

The Gaharu tree is highly versatile, with every part of the tree being valuable. Its primary products include Agarwood chips and Oud oil, while its pruned branches and crown are used for Gaharu extract with potential pharmaceutical applications. Additionally, Gaharu extract is used in teas, perfumes, and various handcrafted items like bracelets, statues, and furniture, ensuring minimal waste and sustainable use.

Every part of the Gaharu tree holds potential value, ensuring minimal waste and promoting sustainability. Any byproducts can be recycled, and the tree itself is perpetual. After cutting it down to roughly 30 cm (the size of a KYNAM sapling), the tree regrows. With each subsequent harvest, the cycle shortens—going from 6 years to 5 years, and stabilizing at 4 years.
